A world map as a magnet board is much more than an ordinary world map or simple wall decoration. Our world map magnet board is designed to mark visited places, special memories, and new travel destinations directly on the map with magnet pins. This way, the world map becomes a personal space for travel planning, travel memories, and new adventures.

You can even attach photos, flight tickets, or attraction tickets to the magnet board with a magnet.

Because a magnetic board needs to do more in everyday life than just be "magnetic." The construction with Alu-Dibond + Ferro foil has clear advantages over steel plate/sheet metal:

• Weight & Handling:
  Alu-Dibond is significantly lighter than steel. This makes transport, hanging, and handling (especially with large formats) noticeably easier.
• Warping & Waves:
  Thin sheets tend to warp or appear "tinny." Alu-Dibond, as a composite material, is absolutely rigid and does not bend – it remains flat even over years.
• Corrosion & Edges:
  Metal can – depending on material and coating – corrode. Also, classic sheet metal edges are often less suitable for living spaces. Alu-Dibond is the durable, clean solution for your home.

Our magnetic board is fully magnetic across its surface and designed for strong magnetic adhesion. Our small, lightweight magnet pins from the accessories are best suited: they are light, hold reliably, have the perfect size for marking locations – and also look especially harmonious on the children's map.

Additionally, classic fridge or travel magnets up to about 70 g (depending on the magnet type, even more) usually stick to the magnetic board. Please note: The actual holding power depends greatly on the strength, design, and contact surface of each magnet. Since there are very large differences here, we cannot guarantee the holding power of every single magnet.

Magnets require a minimum distance from each other to prevent attraction or repulsion due to their polarity. The larger the magnet, the greater the distance needed between magnets. Our small magnet pins need only about 15 millimeters of spacing between them – allowing for a relatively high density of location markers.

Both versions look high-quality – the difference lies in the function.

• Matte surface:
  Our standard surface with a non-reflective, calm look. It reduces reflections, looks particularly elegant, and ensures that the colors and details of the map come across naturally. Ideal if you want to use the map primarily as decoration and a magnet map.
• Whiteboard surface:
  This version additionally has a whiteboard function: you can write on the surface with non-permanent whiteboard markers and wipe it off again (e.g., bucket lists, travel routes, notes, dates). Visually, it is also matte but appears slightly “smoother” depending on the light compared to the standard matte surface.

Important: The whiteboard function also depends on the pen used and the exposure time – classic whiteboard markers that can be wiped off promptly work best.

The world map is available in various Sizes – from compact Sizes starting at 80 cm wide for smaller rooms to large XXL Sizes up to 200 cm wide for a strong presence on the wall.

The larger the Size, the more details can be displayed on the map and the more comfortably places can be marked with pins. Smaller Sizes are deliberately designed to be somewhat simplified so that the map remains clear, balanced, and easy to read despite limited space. If you want to mark especially many places or value a high level of detail, we therefore recommend a larger Size.

The ocean depths are a matter of appearance – not numerical values. To keep the design as minimal as possible, we depict the oceans as a solid color area. Is that too monotonous for you? Then optionally display the ocean depths: This visual addition visibly breaks up the background and literally adds more depth. This makes the world map appear a bit more lively without losing its clear and minimalist character.

Please note: The "Ocean Depths" option is not available for the MULTICOLOR Terra and MULTICOLOR Topo colors, as both maps already include visual ocean depths.

Yes, you can personalize your world map individually and make it a true one-of-a-kind. For the design, you have several options to choose from:

Bottom left you can either choose the Bourdain quote (standard in English) – or have your own desired quote printed.

Bottom right you have the option to place your name, family name, and even a small legend for the pins. You can choose from five different designs the one that suits you best. For companies, there is also the option to have their own logo printed on the world map for a small additional fee.

If a specific desired location is especially important to you, you can name up to five places that must not be missing from your world map. After receiving your order, we will check for free whether these places are already included on the map and add them if necessary. Simply enter your desired locations in the comment field at checkout.
